RÉSUMÉ

Traditional Silk weaving trade Village Van Phuc is a destination for foreign and domestic tourists to visit Hanoi.
This village is an urban functional area, as well as a special typically urban space and formation of historical significant, imprinting a traditional trade village suffering from effect of urbanization and industrialization.
This is also a geographic name of natural Ha dong silk products which have been famous in the country and abroad, these products are made with hand weaving technology and traditional material, they are now in danger of falling into oblivion...
This silk weaving village appeared from IX century BC, worshipping the tutelary god of textile industry. That was Lady La Thi Nga who deserved credit for bringing textile industry to the village. The traditional textile industry has been maintained and developed in the manner of from generation to generation. The degrading very strongly of this village require the appropriated preservation measures .
-Some heritages in need of conservation
- Structure of a trade village with more than 80-85% of households taking silk weaving as career. Scale of production is simple in the form of co-operative society, productive team, and household.
In the village, there are still family houses for living activities and manufacturing, such as weave and dyeing.
- Pagodas, communal houses, market for commercial transaction, and street trading silk and traditional fine art products
Actual state of degradation of urban infrastructure and environmental pollution
Village road system, waste collective system and waste have been lacked and degraded seriously, which is the barrier preventing the trade village from developing into a tourist and economic-commercial centre of Hadong-Hanoi
Sewage pollution, and escape gas pollution are now exceeding admissible standard, making negative impact on Nhue River, environment of community and the health of villagers themselves in the village.
Trade village preservation project:
- Combine the preservation of available historic monuments, traditional silk weaving village and some house models combining traditional silk manufacture with the renovating, refurbishing and constructing harmony traditional and modern of this historical village to become a tourist-ecological commercial centre of Hanoi.
- Develop, refurbish and upgrade the technical infrastructure such as drainage and green , dark water ,solid waste collection and treatment system; treat escape gas following proper planning, and select modern ecological technology.
- Besides preserving traditional silk weaving technology, modernize and innovate technology by clean technologies orientation energy efficiency and generates less Carbon emission .
